Bryan Mock (far left) and his Ness Group Fishing Buddies
I was a guest of Waterfall June 23-28 with the Ness Group. I wanted to let you and your staff know that although we did not have favorable weather conditions, we had an amazing experience. Two years ago, almost the same group fished out of Sunnahae under perfect weather conditions and all agreed that there is no comparison to the Waterfall experience. Our guide, Mike King, did an amazing job hunting down fish for us and even though two of the four fisherman on our boat had never been Salmon fishing, on our second to last day we had a quad hook up of Kings and brought all four to the boat.
Stu, Stacy and their staff are an amazing culinary team and whether it was a chicken salad wrap on the boat or a rib eye in the dining room (Tuesday nights was one of the best I’ve personally ever had) the food was always top shelf.
Your admin/general store staff including Sara, Emily and Colleen were also very accommodating to our group the whole time and always pleasant to deal with. I think it enhances the overall experience to be able to hang out with the staff and I can tell you that I certainly enjoyed playing pool and having drinks with all of them.
Last but certainly not least, the Lagoon Saloon’s bartender extraordinaire, Ron. I’ve been to bars around the world and think Ron is one of the best. When you can walk through the doors of a bar the second night of a trip and your group’s round is set up by the time you hit the bar, that’s one hell of a good bartender!
I can’t wait to come back next year and I can guarantee it will be Red Snappers and Guide Bombers for the bar if I get King of the Day! Don’t forget to consider the “Bar Tab of the Day” just in case I come up short. You guys are the best.

Great Year for Silvers
By Ray Rychnovsky
Spectacular fighting silver salmon have made a very early appearance and it looks like a great year for these fish. When I visited Waterfall Resort this year, everyone on our boat caught a limit of six silvers on June 19. That’s the earliest anyone can remember getting limits of silvers,” said guide Mitch Carroll. This species of salmon are more and more abundant all the way to lodge closing. Mid-to-late season anglers can expect great fishing for this species.
